Quite cool but there's not much to do. I see your a mario fan. I'm working on a mario galaxy game by giving object's gravity so you can walk round them. You intrested in doing it together?

About mushroom-idea...
Can't you just add spring that is on mushroom, when you hit block some hinges break and mushroom pops out.
