I changed lompilomp's scene slightly just to show an alternative and much simpler way of writing the script that controls the up/down motion of the cylinder.

My script is located in the gray rectangle that covers the hydraulic cylinder. Check it out!

You can make string be like 1.000*10^9 and damping make INFINITY. And you will get more then that.
