I'm trying to simulate how planets and suns are formed. It's not very realistic in 2D, but I think it came out pretty good.

It's beautiful to look at, and if you have the patience, in a few minutes you can see planets are forming. If you are lucky there will be several planets, but mostly they collide and merge into one big planet.

There's no real-life numbers involved here, I just adjusted the numbers until it looked cool. Feel free to change the numbers or add something.

Details about the particles:
All particles have the same Attraction, Restitution and Friction.
The friction is set to Zero to make the heavier particles able to force themselves into the center of planets.

The only physical difference between the particles is the density/mass. But with more mass there will be more gravity.

There are 8 particles.
Lightest (grey): 1kg/m^2
...
Heaviest (bright yellow): 31kg/m^2

It's a bit laggy, so if you would try to fix that :o
Anyhow, it's a gooooood scene.
5/5
Ye, the lagg is inevitable because of the amount of particles. You can just delete some, but I think it's more spectacular the more particles there is.

Very cool! Like it!
you know whats strange? i was thinking about making something similar to this, with particles and gravity, but my comp was laggy and i didn't have the patience:lol: . But this is awesome, im glad to see that it works!
Did make a planet and a moon and the moon did go around the planet:lol: 10/10:tup:
Ok thank you for show! ;)
Could you make a disk around a star or what not? That would be cool to see the planets form. I see you can drag the objects (a cluster), but it's very hard to get the velocity tright. I want to see planets form!

Btw, If you make a moon, you can actually see the sysnchronous radii effect. :)
lol i got it to go to 1 planet and i clones that then i threw the cloned on at the original and they spun to slow to fly away but 2 fast 2 merge into 1 so it was 2 connected with a "bridge"
Well done! I'm glad i found this scene :)

You know with the elliptic orbits this scene is very close to 3D; you could not disagree even if you called it 3D space! 10/10
Amazing.
WOW! IT'S AWESOME8| ! 10/10
