I've been interested in steam engines for about half a year now.
So I built [another] one in Algodoo.

Single cylinder, slide valve, actuated by Stephenson's valve gear.
Use up and down arrows to move the reversing lever up/down
(forward/reverse).
If the engine doesn't start, (which hasn't happened to me yet)
give the flywheel a little push with the drag tool.

Xray,
if you are reading this, this would be the kind of reverse gear
I'd suggest for a steam engine like yours.
There are way less components (especially when the valve is on the side of
the cylinder like on your 6CI) than on Walschaerts valve gear, and you
don't have to take motion off of the crosshead, which would be difficult,
especially with the slide bars in one casting.
Also, Stephensons is a lot narrower than walschaerts...
