the probmem with long rods is that the long rods bet de-stabilized at such high speeds starting from proportions from 5 length parts for one diameter part. so, they stabilize it with fins which spin. it loses some of its power by stabilizing it, but thats much better than to get its power totaled by not hitting in the are it should..(becoming a blunt object which does not harms tank-style armor)
