Some time not too recently (idk the time), two spacecraft were launched into orbit around the moon to calculate gravitational abnomalies on and under the surface of the moon. After a month in orbit, the entire surface was mapped. The surface, to say the least, was wild. There were lumps that pulled things in, and craters that pulled things in less, and it really explained why nothing could stay in low lunar orbit.
