Answer: Unfortunately, Algodoo does not have any built-in 3D physics functions that users can access. I have tried making some objects (like a ball) move as if it was traveling into and out of the view screen (That would be the Z-axis), but the results were not all that impressive. I've had only limited success, but I believe if someone knows all the required math equations for simulating 3D object movement in 2D space, it might look really amazing. May biggest concern is the fact that Algodoo was not designed for handling huge chunks of data and lots of heavy-duty calculations that 3D motion requires. And so even if the right calculations to simulate 3D motion were used, the scene would probably run extremely slow and may even lock up due to extreme computer lag. If you want to play around with "real" 3D physics software, I'm sure there are lots of apps to choose from, many of them may even be free. Search the Web!
If you would like to play with some of my scenes in which I attempted to make 3D motion, do a search for 3D with my user name. There are some other users who are much better at math than I am, and so you should check out their scenes also. User s_noonan is a very talented Engineer who has made some awesome scenes over the years since the very early days when Algodoo was called "Phun". He might even give you some advice or some help if you ask him nicely.
