Airbags should deploy as soon as the two vehicles make contact.

Note: The airbags that we often see in movies and cartoons inflate slowly as if someone was inflating a balloon. If that were to actually happen in a real-life collision, the people would be crushed to their deaths long before the bags even begin to inflate. In a real situation, airbags fully inflate in the blink of an eye. It's an actual explosion, and that's what is necessary in order to cushion the occupants while the collision is occurring which may take only a few milliseconds (a few thousandths of a second)!

Note2: If you want to actually see how the airbags perform in slow motion, you must increase the simulation frequency to 1200Hz, then run the scene. You will see the airbags deploy in time to protect the driver!

Note3: Modified timing so that shortly before the crash, the sim frequency automatically switches to 1200Hz so that you can see the crash in slow motion.

This scene is a response to the original scene that was made by user mateo7041. I just copied his scene and slightly modified it to make it look like the airbags deploy at a high speed, but in actuality the airbags are already deployed but cannot be seen because the color transparency value is initially set to zero (totally transparent). Then when the collision with the other car occurs, I simply make the airbags opaque by setting the color transparency value to 1.0. There is also a timer that switches the sim frequency from 60Hz to 1200Hz when the cars are a short distance from each other which causes the slow-motion effect. It's sort of like Hollywood movie magic! :lol:

Xray I was playing Mario kart and I see this project and I saw that it said Xray& Mateo, how do you collaborate in algodoo?

Cool car crash and deploy mechanics! I haven't known about a slow motion feature in Algodoo but after i figured out, it only just increase sim frequency to 1200 hz and the results is fascinating!

I can barely see the dummy person crashes an another car and deploy airbags in slow motion so i can tell out if the person survives the impact!

The coding itself made me inspiring myself to be taught!:)
