I've put the climber from Venge into a gravity ring. Nothing else to it. Enjoy the loopy jumps and coriolis effect and such.

F to make manipulator sticky

I wonder if there is a way to make the thing orbit or stay in the center or something other?
The central object has gravity, so you can technically orbit it! As I've found out, once you're in orbit, you can control the height and eccentricity of the orbit really easily, just by sticking the manipulator out either in the prograde or retrograde direction. No idea why that happens though.
I finally made the thing stick to the center of the ring. It partially orbited too
