Most people probably don't know that this type of snap-action device is used in so many mechanical and electrical products. It's used in temperature controls, tactile feedback for some keyboards, electrical switches, and even in hand-held "clickers" for alerting and training animals.

As an idea for this scene, maybe you can make a finished product with it such as an electrical switch, or just a simple clicker. The user presses and releases a button to make it change states.
