I don't get the point of having an adjustable nut. Please explain.

By the way, the nut can be unscrewed until it leaves the bolt and then it floats away. Was that intentional?

Edited note: Ignore my comment. I just realized what this is used for. In fact, I have such an assembly on my JD lawn tractor. It's used to adjust the V-belt tension for the belt that goes between the transmission output shaft and the mower deck drive pulley.

The intention of this scene is to have a general screw and nut that can be used anywhere. The spring and washers are included just to show the operation of the screw and nut. I made an Adjustable Screw scene that spawns a new screw polygon and deletes the old one as the screw is adjusted. I thought the method in this scene, which is functionally equivalent to the Adjustable Screw scene, is more practical and responsive.
