A friend of mine has been working on a star calculator in Desmos for quite a while now.
She reached out to me about whether I'd like to make something similar in Algodoo.
So, for the past few weeks I've been working on the Algodoo star calculator!
One integral function, however, is the function to get a color value from a temperature value (in Kelvin).
She has helped me come up with a similar function to what she uses, and this scene is a demo of the Algodoo script!
I realized though that this function could be useful for more than just space! -- what if we try to make an incandescant light bulb, for instance?
This scene is a small playground for objects that can heat up and glow!
I've included 3 items of note -- a blackbody radiator with adjustable thermal properties, an incandescent light bulb, and a regular heating element like you would see in an electric stove.
DISCLAIMER: This probably isn't 100% accurate!
P.S - This is my second-to-last scene for the year -- see you in 2026!
