Hello everyone!
A few scenes ago I wanted to make a candy-themed car -- and I had decided I wanted peppermint/lollipop themed wheels.
The issue with that, however, is that that requires a spiral -- something I was unable to make with builtin Algodoo tools.
So, just for that scene -- I got to building a spiral generator!
The version used in that scene was vastly incomplete, but I've worked out some of the kinks and added a few features (plus gave it a GUI) and now I'm pretty happy with it!
Controls are listed on the generator itself, but to summarize:
There are 2 main components here -- a circular button that spawns in a new generator, and an already spawned-in generator without a close button.
The spawner is meant for phunlets (although you can just phunlet the generator itself) as a compact way to spawn/remove the generator.
On the generator itself, there are 7 parameters:
Radius - How large the spiral is, in meters (measured from center -> edge)
Total Degrees - How many total degrees of rotation the spiral completes (1 full rotation is 360 degrees)
Color - Color of the spiral
Width - Thickness of the spiral structure (multiplied by radius)
Resolution - How many samples the spiral's shape has (higher values may look smoother to a point, but take longer to generate)
I recommend using a resolution around 150!
Arms - How many arms does the spiral have? Note that more arms take longer to generate, and overlapping arms can have some strange effects (as showcased in the scene)
And finally, Generate Center Circle -- Generate a circle at the center of the spiral for moving/rotation. Not glued to the circle and cannot collide; used only for visual aids and manipulation with tools.
The scene also comes with a few demo spirals to show more of what the actual controls do.
I hope you like making some silly shapes with this thing, it was certainly fun building it.
Enjoy!
2017 - 2026 Little (Thyme Scene)
Not mobile-friendly (sorry :c)
Any spirals you generate do not require attribution to me and can be used in other scenes freely (after all, it's just a shape!

)
No AI was used in the making of this scene
EDIT: Removed one of the strange spirals (they cause a lot of lag) and corrected a typing error
