There are two tanks with 8 grey circles in each. They "breed" by colliding, and each will only have one offspring. When one is born it cannot "breed" for five seconds. Offspring will have the average of the radius and color of the parents, with a few random mutations to make "evolution" happen. The two tanks have the same starting point, but will often have different results at the end. Delete the middle gray blocks to interbreed the circles.
I will later try to add male/female, fighting, and eating.

They are not breeding for me
They only breed when they collide. And they collide simply out of chance.
Not working for me either. loaded it twice incase. And its not because they aren't colliding, in one tank i was dragging them into one another with no results. be cool if you can get it working though.
Same for me as Torpedo, they do collide, they just don't breed

It takes a few seconds for them to start breeding. Try waiting about 5-10 seconds before colliding them.
They don't multiply, but they do breed. I am going to be releasing a modification of this, with many more features and variations, that will create society, not just offspring.
Go for it! As long as you give me credit for the base then Im fine with people modifying my scenes.
One of the variables in the circles controls how many offspring they produce before they die, so you can raise that to allow them to multiply. I left it at one so that the boxes dont get overcrowded.

I keep trying this and it never works ive done every thing you said to everyone else and it still doesnt work. I only have the demo could that be it?
I doubt it, it doesnt use any Algodoo specific features. What isnt working?

Got it working! But it only works in phun for me, not algodoo.

I does not work for Algodoo here too... But it worked in Phun 5.28.

It works. Too well sometimes - within about a minute or so I'm facing a population boom. The tanks are nearly completely filled with greyish circles, which causes a lot of lag. I suggest that death, food and competition is added to the simulation both to make it more realistic and to solve this problem.

Have you seen RaRaMalum's Life scenes? They're a perfect example of what I'd like to see here.
