the engine blows up when I start the sim I think there are collision issues

try reloading the scene (maybe a couple of times)

your gearbox just sucks (not meant to offend you), and your bounce engine is a little too weak...
that's just the result i've come with after some testing...
Maybe you should use C-gears (just seach 'em up on phunbox/algobox)
I like the looks of the car (even though you didnt work out the wheels)
Also try new things to transfer the power from the engine to the wheels (like I use circles glued together in groups)

I downloaded the scene myself, and I also had a problem with the car when I started the sim I don't know what makes this happen, but just as Bronie said reloading the scim helped for me.

how i tested your car:
play alot with the sliders and +inf friction (double-click on the number after "friction", and then type in +inf)
