An ancient dart throwing device called an atlatl, and a dart to go with it. Unfortunately, in algodoo, it's impossible to use an atlatl how you're supposed to (hold the atlatl with your hand, hold the dart with your thumb and forefinger), so I added a spring connecting the dart and atlatl, just to hold the dart on the nock.
Controls:
Enter/Return - Swing arm right or left
\ (above Enter/Return) - Remove the spring connecting the atlatl and dart. Do this after you've tapped Enter/Return so the dart actually flies through the air instead of springing back to the atlatl.
I haven't done a lot of testing with it, but from the testing I have done, it's pretty powerful and fairly accurate.
The fletching on the dart is experimental, and has a ton of parts to it, so it'll proabably lag on lower end computers (it does on mine, at least), and might not work perfectly. I'll change it if it turns out it's not so good.
That's about all there is to tell, so have fun with it, and tell me what you think of it.
Updates V1.1:
Changed the atlatl nock tip and the dart nock so they stay together
Changed the wrist and arm motors so they work better
Change the weight of the arrowhead (or darthead) so the dart flies better
Changed the fletching so it doesn't collide with anything but the plane, because the fletching collisions were causing major lag
Should work MUCH better now |
