This is a barrier that reveals when an object deforms or penetrates it by changing colors at the points of stress. Then after the object has passed through it, or bounced off it, the barrier then reassembles itself, and the colors return to their base color.

The scene is based on Fruitmonger's "Indestructable Target" scene. I added some Thyme script that senses the amount of deformation and changes the color of each circle. I also had to cut the size of Fruitmonger's barrier in half because the amount of lag was intolerable. Even with the barrier cut in half, I still had to change the sim frequency to 10 (instead of the default 100). The lag is still pretty bad, but the scene works faster at the faster frame rate.

Grab the large glass ball and move it around the barrier. You'll see that the barrier cannot be destroyed because it reassembles itself. Nice work by Fruitmonger!

UPDATE: I changed the sim frequency back to default (100). If lag is bad on your computer, then try setting it to 10.

Is there an absolute value function?

I tried

|_pos(0)-...|

but it didn't work. Same with:

abs(pos(0)-...)
