This bridge is modeled after the Royal Albert Bridge. The upper arch and the lower catenary each support half the bridge load. Since the ends of the arch push out and the ends of the catenary pull in, the net result is zero horizontal force on the vertical columns. Drive the cars onto the bridge using the arrow keys. Delete the upper arch or the lower catenary and watch how the bridge fails. Delete the water if the scene lags too much.

I moved cars onto the bridge, then I selected one of them and slowly increased its weight until the bridge failed. It didn't just collapse, but it exploded! FUNNY! :lol:

All silliness aside, I've never seen a real bridge like this, but the concept makes sense. Good job! :tup:
