lololoer was having trouble calculating the distance between two geometries, so I created this scene for him.

The Thyme calculation is: ((Geom1pos(0) - Geom2pos(0))^2 + (Geom1pos(1) - Geom2pos(1))^2)^0.5

In plain language, you subtract the X position values of the two geometries and square the result. You add that result to the subtracted and squared Y position values of the geometries, and then you take the square root (^0.5) of the summation. The answer is the distance (always a positive value) between the objects.

tutorial thread pls :3
No tutorial for this. Just a scene. Sorry....
math.vec.dist(scene.my.greenball,scene.my.redball)

also works
thankx xray you helped me a lot _o_ , about s_noonan's method i will try it later thnx too. I a asked my teacher that how to calculate the distance between two objects in this type of plane, x,y coordinate axis, and he give me this formula : distance = square root of (x2-x1)^2+(y2-y1)^2
s_noonan - Thanks for the tip! I'll try using that on future scenes.

lololoer - That formula that your teacher gave you is the same formula that I used in my example scene for you. Your teacher just laid it out a little differently, but it works the same way.
yes he told me that the square root of a number is the same that elevated to 0.5
