s_noonan - This is a great idea for a scene, but I believe it could become even greater if you wanted to put more work into it. It would be a good education tool if you were to place an observer at some point along the path of the moving sound generator, and plot the apparent delta frequency as the sound generator passes the observer.

Thoughts?

This is great. You know what makes it really cool? when you push the ball a little faster, say just faster then the sound expands, you have a sonic boom!
Xray - That thought crossed my mind, but the expanding circles are on top of each other so I used collision layer 0. Since I did that, I couldn't think of an easy way for an observer to detect the frequency. Then I figured take the easy way out and post the "Doppler Effect" hyperlink in the description. Feel free to change or embellish the scene as desired.
s_noonan - OF COURSE YOU CAN!
