I recently discovered that by making the Fade Distance value negative, the laser will shine backwards! This simple scene demonstrates that. This could possibly be useful in scenes, but I can't think of any good use at the moment.
Update: I also recently discovered that when a laser is made backward (as described above) the beam does not collide with any geometry except at it's very tip where the beam comes out of the laser! I edited the scene to demonstrate that peculiar behavior.
After seeing how a laser behaves when forced to be backward, I now do not believe that there can be any practical use for this behavior in a scene. |
