This is a typical residential watthour meter that's used here in the U.S. for keeping track of the amount of electricity used.

Only the rightmost two digits are active in this scene because that's all that is necessary for the demo. The other digits work in similar fashion in a real meter, but they move so slowly that it would not be any more useful for this demo to make them active.

The scene may appear to be simple if you just count the number of objects in it, but the script that makes the numbers scroll with the proper timing and sequencing was rather tricky to do. It took me quite some time to figure out how to do it, and then to debug it.
