So, did you work as an engineer for either a keyboard manufacturer or a switch manufacturer? If not, then how did you get into drawing sketches of keyboard switches?

a few years ago I was a member on a site called geekhack that was basically all about mechanical keyboards. this was before anybody knew what mechanical keyboards were. there were only a few different ones available and you couldn't even buy them in US. So basically I decided to try and spread the word about mechanical keyboards because they are just so superior to a normal keyboard of course. I took apart a switch and did made that original animation that is all over google if you type "mechanical keyboard"

Geekhack basically pushed mechanical keyboards to the mainstream market and now they are readily available and everybody knows what they are for the most part.

Lethalsquirl, this is pretty darn amazing The precision of the mechanical components must have taken some time to get right. It seems as though as soon as the connection is made, the mechanism snaps out of position, and the connection is stopped again. Impressive

Q: How did you find the video?
A: I was checking out your new gun, but since I seldom check out gun scenes, I did not know how to operate it. I inserted the mag and pulled the trigger but nothing happened. So I looked at one of your previous gun scenes and saw there was a video which didn't work for me. So then I went to YouTube and saw your switch video. I subsequently figured out how to operate the gun by recalling from action movies that something gets pulled back before firing the gun.
