YEY! It seems to fail to eject every fourth or fifth round

Fixed. Hopefully. )|(
Just so everyone knows, I'm not taking sides on this.

The rifle seems to operate in a strange manner. When I pull the bolt back, it remains in its rearward position until I pull the trigger. Then the bolt slams forward, fires the round, and then it recoils back, ejects the empty, but again remains in its rearward position! Is it supposed to do that? :s
That's an open-bolt weapon design, Xray. the bolt acts as a hammer, striker, and the bolt all at once. Do a google search for "open-bolt" weapon designs.
Wow, I've been around guns during most of my adult life and I've never seen or heard of an open bolt weapon! (Ya learn something new every day!!!)

the Thompson sub-machine-gun is another example of an open-bolt weapon. They are less common now than closed bolt, as open-bolt technology is very limited in mechanical capability.
No shame in that. It's really not all that common. And nobody really makes open bolt guns in algodoo because Its a lot harder to make it reliable.
OH YEAH!!! I knew that the "Tommy Gun" was blowback operated, but it never downed on me that it used the open bolt design. I never shot one, I only held one during a class demo one time. It is incredibly heavy, even with no ammo in the magazine! Can you imagine how heavy it would be with a 100 round drum magazine affixed to it? :o
