Pluck the strings by pressing the keys that correspond to the musical keys that the open strings are tuned to. On a standard electric bass guitar, the four strings are normally tuned E, A, D, and G, starting from the thickest and ending with the thinnest string.

UPDATE: Made suggested changes by s_noonan. Now you can change the range of frequencies by adjusting the simulation speed. A good starting point seems to be a speed of 2.0. Also, the frequency spacing between strings is more accurate. Many thanks to s_noonan! :)

The scene looks so good I was hesitant to criticize. Here are my suggestions anyways:

1. Use the following ratios for the _control variable; [1.335,1.782,2.378,3.175] for [E,A,D,G]. This should match the relative frequencies of the strings.

2. Delete "_clock = _clock + _control;"

3. Replace

scene.my.scaleX = scene.my.scaleY = 2 + (math.sin(_clock) / 16)

with

scene.my.scaleX = scene.my.scaleY = 2.0 + math.sin(20.0 * _control * sim.time) / 16.0

This way the speaker vibrations can be slowed down by changing the simulation speed.
s_noonan - Thanks for the compliment and your suggestions. Your suggestions are always welcome and appreciated, but please keep in mind that they may not always get implemented. Be my guest if you would like to copy this scene and improve it in any way.

I see you made the changes so now I have more suggestions that you can try out if you choose to. The following changes will make the waveform from each string additive and plot out the combined waveform.

1. Install a coalescing filter between the amplifier and speaker.
2. Install a Neuber Riff Generator (NBR) in the bass.
3. Adjust the phlogiston trimmer on the amp.

Yes, you are supposed to hear sound unless you are deaf. Just don't expect to hear any sound coming from this scene.
