no. i did this because i was bored. I'm sure that I could do better with more complex crap if I were given the time.

I looked up the Theo Jansen linkage. It looks interesting, and I might build it eventually. It revolves around some mathematical principal called "holy numbers", ratios of segment lengths that allow the unit motion.
