Original (brilliant) idea by homieeee!

I just could not stand to re-make it with more effective and simple code.
Original was ~20FPS, this gives 32 FPS on my PC.

Mouse control, ASWD+E.

WOW! Nicely done! _o_

It's running at 31 FPS on my PC.

Well i'll be damned

Amazing work
AWESOME
You've managed to make this CPU-dependant. I have an integrated GPU (AMD HD3000) which runs notepad and paint at 10 fps, and this runs at 40 fps in my computer with Threading.numThreads = 4 (i have 6 threads)

EDIT: Actually it runs at 35-40 fps no matter how many threads I set

Awesome!
Even if It's running at 13-16 FPS,but it feels like 30-32 FPS!:o
By the way, welcome back to Algobox!(late greeting)
The 3D scenes are getting better and better and better! Each one of you needs to continue the 3D technique and create something a little bigger from it!
FRA32 - you could actually draw level by yourself - there is no special requirements for it. Just collizion groups A,B.
I guess this is what games would look like if 3D would never be invented
Holy cr..p ! That is awesome! The 2d to 3d implementation with lasers is complete genius! Nice work man. I will have to take a look on how you draw the image tough cause I can't select anything in the monitor and I'm quite confused. _o_
You cannot select objects in the monitor because those items are located on a different layer. When Algodoo loads, it defaults to layer zero. The items that you see in the monitor are on layer 1 or 2 (I don't recall which one). You switch layers by right-clicking on the background, then hover your cursor on "layers" and then right click the desired layer which will select it (the selected layer name will turn red).

Hope this helps!
i dont longer need quadcore ;D
This is the most amazing thing I have ever seen on Algodoo. I feel like I'm playing Roblox when I play this! The only problem I see is that eventually the mouse goes offscreen when you turn. And what's the little maze above the screen?
Actually, it's a maze you could build and play with.
It's creepy but it's awesome !
Oh wow this amazing, on the video you uploaded seems to be like a real 3D maze game. This could be a before and an after of how we see the way of coding in algodoo, this could be the first step to a fluid enough first person shooter 3D game too, even with zombies. I have an Idea: to make a 'zombie' you could make a geom with a specific identity or specific material name, and when calling it on the array instead of spawning that geometry, spawning a box with the texture of a zombie, that could be sprited in various images to make the animation of a very hungry walking zombie.
10/10 and added to favourites _o_

CURIOSITY: I have tested for a while and had discovered that if you set the lasers that simulate the capacity of the vision's maxRays to a value bigger than one you get on the sreen distorted image, its like getting drunk and this could be used in a game when for example you get poisoned by a floor tramp.
Great job!, but isn't that 2D? it doesn't have height, we can't put decoration like a table, because it will ocupy all the height? sorry for bad english, anyways its amazing, can't wait to see height in it too, you could make another 2d with lasers but side view and like merge them somehow:D gool duck!
Hey very awesome work man!
Anyway i discovered that if you use an explosion(that use tracers)
it will work like a smoke grenade infact it will partial block your vision
try it is funny but the tracers (in my case the geom was 0 opacity and the tracer was orange)are invisible...
So the code of the lasers can't see them.

can someone please make wolf3d on this? thanks
emanu1674 - NO! Wolfenstein3D is a very complex video game that was developed by a team of programmers and artists. Algodoo is a wonderful physics simulation program but it can only simulate 2D scenes. This scene shown here is very clever, but as you can see it is a very simple and crude example of a simulated 3D scene. It does not even come close to the speed and complexity that would be required to make a functional 3D type video game like Wolfenstein or any other commercial video game.
It can't load on my computer.
I just don't know what to say. I do not know how you did this. I tried to select it to see if there where scripts. but it did not select! INPOSIBLE! INPOSIBLE AGAIN! HOW DO YOU GET MOVEING PIXELS?
BRILLIANT! I get it: the lasers detect what is in front of it, then creates a box with identical appearance, and height, scaled to the distance. I remember seeing something like this in another sandbox game, but I totally didn't realize that it could be done, and that someone would try it in Algodoo! XD
this scene trolls my computer
good;)
