The magical device uses rotating box with two high air friction rotating boxes on it. whole thing rotates in such manner that the boxes are horizontal when moving forwards, and vertical when backwards, so they exert different amout of air friction force in these two phases. Additionaly, they rotate so fast that there's no in-between phase, vastly improving overall efficiency and giving very good thrust to air friction ratio. (boxes tips move at some 100m/s or so)
Light green boxes are negative air friction. They are hinged in the middle, so they create no torque. Dark yellow tips are positive air friction, at higher speeds they rotate the boxes and decrease the amout of negative air friction.
Drive power is controlled by geometry controller of square. Decreasing it 10-fold greatly increases reliability. Don't know where's the problem, for me, it works good in phun.
how it works:
Engine spawns 2 huge + and - attraction balls placed in 2 opposite directions, creating very strong uniform attraction field around vehicle. 1 frame later, it spawns circles again but with opposite attractions.
I animated it by changing 3rd value of texturematrix. This technique was discovered by Killinich, I think. There's nice description of all texturematrix values on the forum.
Two insanely big and massive circles are spawned far away at left and right, one with positive and one with negative attraction. They basically cover the whole scene with constant attraction, making all object accelerate evenly.
I'm also wondering why almost all my scenes get featured, even when they're some better scenes posted by others.
It seems that weapons catch more people's attention than other things
