here's a piece of advice: Stop uploading scenes made of... this kind of stuff and start uploading scene where you worked and thought for it. This loooks pretty much like boredom...
Try this: add 1 single cube which changes its pos by rastering off the area around a targetting shape(for example a fixed circle). Everytime it collides, it spawns a square which lives quite long and owns the color of the collided object and doesn not own a collideset itself
if you want this to end, stop joining the spam and try to avoid message scenes(thats what our forum is for). You really need to consider that whatever camp you "join" is just a copy of 2000 other scenes. Please try to return the originality to algobox, else it will wither away ant then algobox is just another bag of marbles and stickmen...
You dont have to worry about a ban, because these are only for the ones who go entirely wrong. Even if I dislike camps, I would "allow" you to complete whatever you have already started, since I know that it sucks when suddently ceasing things in the middle. Complete your current camps, and instead of starting new camps, try something new
I don't know how you're attitude towards algobox is, but if you're goal is to make popular scenes, I could teach you some scripting, which is a very usefull tool in order to impress others. If you use the forum, we can use private messages in order to communicate, and then we could easily swap what we know and you get to know how to do impressive scenes, while I learn about your abilities
Also, bigchess! Why do you want to leave If it's because you think you can't make proper scenes or something, dont worry! That's no reason to quit. Everyone has started small(even I), and just like with puffball, I can teach you how to make special scenes too, because I always am a friend of those who actually want to learn how to get better. But please dont leave algodoo because of whatever the problem is
Entire school singing the mlp fansong 24/7 ??? first of all, what fansong, 2nd, why did you pick mlp for comparison?
oh wait, I get it, you mean that horrible intro. Yup, noone is safe from that.
@happykyle119
Of Course some of the camp makers are inventing stuff, but most of the time, they just throw a bunch of wierd stuff together. My main issue with these scenes is: no matter how "creative" you are with your camp, in the end theres about 2000 other camp scenes by people who were just as bored as you are. And trust me when I tell you that "our side" has a way larger spectrum of possibilities when it comes to creativity. Just as an example: If you look at my scenes, you will notice I barely have anything twice, except a game series I am making, and occassionally scenes that are in context with each other. Now let's take a look at an algodoo camp user like PoisonousShroom: He has about 300 scenes, all about the same kind of scenes: Algo???thlon and eventually marbles. This is the reason why we are so upset about the fans, they always do the same thing over and over again in unneccessarily long chains of 24223 days about the same camp thing. We just cant stand if all the possibilities of algodoo are thrown away, while some cheap invention is repeated over and over again
I see what you wanted to do here, but did you know you can actually make such a thing like "data ports" or handles to set the speed by using thyme? If you like thyme and want to know how to do such stuff, simply send me a private message in the forum(www.algodoo.com/forum)
Uuuh, you could have made the barrel smaller, increase the spring strength, or use strong restitution. Also, why did you upload it if edwedu did the very same thing before?
Seriously, all i'm trying to say is my own opinion, which I know is shared by other people too. You can't just create the same thing over and over again, as if it was unique everytime you upload it, and then expect us to favorise these 100 scenes a day, with 90 of them beeing related to camps and marbles 'n stuff. It's really stressfull and kills most of the enjoyment I usually have in algodoo, since 1st I barely get to see any scenes in the algobox anymore that inspire me to do stuff, and 2nd, I know that my scenes get moved out of the spotlight in the mere duration of 1 night, unless people uprate it at least 2 times. It is really annoying to see your work beeing thrown together with the extremely common stuff. It's as if you guys think that algobox does not own 3000 camp scenes already, and that everyone likes your scenes alot. Just as an example: Measuring the popularity of a user can be done by dividing your total scene count by the ammount of subscribers you have. And when looking at some people, I get values in the area of 0.02 subs per scene, while some people that dont do marble-related stuff are in the area of 0.2 subs per scene, which is way more. And if you look at the leaderboard for the users with the most published scenes, many of them are part of the camp-marble-group, which is a clear sign that these are basically massive-consumption-scenes, not quality and unique scenes, and that is a huge huge problem to the whole algobox. Just go to the website, and look at the small display that shows the unique features of algodoo. One says that algobox has a great community where you can find everything if you just name it. Nowadays its not unique in the slightest bit, you only see camps and more camps, and now and then you find a different type of scene, and even more rarely you see something actually enjoyable.
I can name you one gun that is completely different: The Paragon Cannon. It may be named Cannon, but it's still a type of gun. And even if I may not have examples, I can tell you a few more ways of making realistic guns, ranging from complex mechanics to advanced thyme scripting.
I actually got kinda "worried" about you since you are one of the few quality users out there that I know and you are barely uploading scenes anymore. But I can't tell that this does not apply to me neither
Eh, nice to hear you like it so much, but I've had even better scenes before(like the 3D runner :3)
Yes I saw your scene, but to be honest, after checking it, I barely saw thyme code inside it? Well, I liked it, and if you want to learn thyme so you can make just as "awesome" scenes "as I do", just messsage me via forum and I'll tell you all my tricks. And don't worry, you can ask as many questions as you like. The more, the merrier.
*unnecessary*
Well, it's nice to see another user who may own camp(s), but agrees with us about the amount of camp overall.
If you like, I can teach you thyme, and then you can leave the camp stuff behind, and instead start making cool scense with thyme Simply send me a private message via the forum if you like to, then you can ask me as many questions via PM as you like, and I will try to answer these so you understand whatever is needet.
Did the scene contain lots of drones at that moment or did it consume a lot of RAM when you paused it? The scripts and the increasing drone amount can cause algodoo to get quite stressed, which can result in crashes if your system can't handle it.
Yup, it works, but I chose 2 diffrent textures for each paddle, and since the colors of the textures mix with the color settings, it may result in some inproper color mixing. But if you like that, enjoy it ^^
You could try to make a structure out of polygons and squares, where the parts actually support each other like inside a real building, and then you could drop a slightly scripted circle on the roof that would create an explosion that is capable of breaking the structure. Something like that would be cool and is stable enough to stand quite long without collapsing by itself.
