Not all tries are successful. If you continue uploading 100 scenes a day, I am afraid your protest will fail and the flamewars will continue of not intensify.
@faytree - About "Boxer" engines, thank the Germans for that one. They came up with it!
@eanayayo - Still not satisfied huh? OK, I'll look at one of your examples or dream up a better one of my own.
@toni - The textures aren't mine. They're better versions of some older textures from a long time ago. You can get them here if you want them.
About the auto clutch, this car has a manual gearbox and so it needs a clutch to avoid gearbox damage in real life. That's no issue in algodoo but I think it adds realism.
About spawn engines, most of my tech I use is stolen from other users. I build the engines myself but most of the techniques I use didn't come from me. Also in your engines if you want the circles to spawn at the engine's speed type into the spawn script "vel := entity.vel" (or "e.geom.vel" if you're using lasers) Also you need to use pos := pos or pos := e.this.pos instead of e.pos because e.pos will spawn balls outside the engine if it's moving quickly. (I used e.other.pos here to line the geoms up better with the engine's cylinders but pos works nicely too)
I'm working on the Tschudi engine right now. I can't seem to get the cams to work right. Oh well, neither could the guy who built it in real life (I assume his name was Tschudi....?) That's why it failed
I don't wanna protest against an admin here but I recall cursing immaturely on several occasions and I was only given a warning and had my comment deleted. I have given up those behaviors now, but I must ask, if it was Phun User's first offense, why did you ban him immediately whereas I only got several warnings?
I thought you were dead and buried honestly. (Not literally! ) There's also an axle connecting the car to the background so it can't move, and you should probably get rid of it.
Well, good job anyhow. I can't think of a single "bad" car that you've made. I'll give 9/10 because sometimes the car has direct-solver errors that will stop the car completely.
Lamborghini Huracán you say?? ok, I'll build a Hennessey Venom GT and then we'll race
I actually did a torque test for all three, the Beck I runs the fastest and the Beck II has the most torque, and the Bradshaw is more torquey than the first Beck but runs slower. Oh well, at least the Bradshaw does better here than it did IRL. If you read the article I mentioned it says the Bradshaw exploded into a million pieces when they tried to test it
Oh dude!!! I just tested this, it's AWESOME!! Not 723hp, I can get it to handle 10000 nm at 55 rad/s which gives me 1032hp. And it's only 578kg, which gives a hp-per-kg close to 2:1. better than I could ever do with a collide engine!
@faytree - I actually thought about building a BRZ at one point but I'm not really into Subarus. I'm more a Mitsibishi Lancer type of person.
I might actually build a Caparo T1 if I can figure out how to get tha engine to work
@INH - LOL this thing can't even go 1000 rpm at top speed! It's like 900 rpm I limited it to. But I get waht you mean. next car I'll have idle at less tha 100rpm
But it has some bugs/problems. The engine has a tendency to lift the car off the ground when at full rpm. Also why is the engine so big it goes into the passenger compartment?
Hmm, I can get 1200hp out of this engine with some mods and it's smaller and has 2 less cylinders, but it's 80 kg heavier. Also the flying issue can be solved by just adding a thruster to counteract it. Easy!
Yea sure! Shoot me a PM on the forum of what exactly you want. I could make it like this, just the frame and styling bits and no mechanicals or I could make wheels too. Either way you want!
I personally don't prefer engines with odd numbers of cylinders (except radials. all radials are awesome in Algodoo despite the fact that they're kind of useless ) because if you have a 5cylinder inline than you need to put 72 degrees between pistons and it's hard to do that accurately. With a 6 cylinder inline, you only need 60 degrees which is easy. Also 6 cylinders gives you smoother power because you have more cylinders.
I actually built a 4 stroke i3 like the one in that tractor and the first plane. It ran, but only made 5hp and was 500kg
