There are a lot of methods. I might post a tutorial explaining them. But in the meantime, me and another user are working on a SUPER EPIC HOLY BATMAN awesome dyno. Once I get it to work better I might post it
But the most simple method, is put a brake on your flywheels an increase torque until the engine slows down, the take the torque and engine speed and do this-
(engine speed in rad/s) * (torque in nm) * 9.55 / 7124 = horsepower.
So if I have an engine that can make 1000 nm at 477 rpm (50 rad/s), we do the math and get something like 66 hp.
The guy I learned most of my engine-making tech from. Hell he even got me interested in spawn engines, I looked at his stuff when I was still a n00b and thought *God!! I'll never build anything close to that awesome!* So obviously I've come a long way.
Thanks! I've just realized we've hit a point where there are so many good scenes getting made that there are actually no spaces left on popular, so some scenes get uprated but don't go there. I've also noticed there's virtually no algicosathlon/mr on popular as that rarely gets uprated.
It involves having circles spawn with limited timetolive (a little number in the script menu that controls how long a geom has until it auto-despawns. If it's at ∞ then it will exist until you delete it, or something else does) that decreases color and increases edgeBlur as this number gets lower. It's pretty hard to explain without a tutorial so I might make one soon.
By the way, the geo metro had the engine mounted transversely. So if you were going to put your 3cyl one from your last scene in it, it would be inaccurate as that would be a longitudinal engine. For example the engine in this is more like what you'd want, just 3 less cylinders. I made a 3c spawn with a turbo once, but it's under 4 pages of crap on my scenes page so i did't feel like going and finding it
Sometimes I feel like this too. I spend 6 hours on something nice. Then, it immediately gets shoved off "new" by a wave of MR/Algicosathlon. It's very rage inducing!!
