Kiddy I get your point. It is true that the marble racers have been put through a lot of crap by users who don't agree with what they keep doing. I mean, me, FRA32, INH, and a boatload of other users have posted protest scenes trying to get you guys to cut the crap and try something else. The thing is, we've just about been pushed to the ends of our ropes trying to get you rowdy kids to tone things down a little. I mean, many users have posted protest scenes and others have left outright. I mean, users like me, INH, Vaidas, FRA32 and a variety of others have left as we've all got a reason - You guys have irrevocably screwed Algobox. I think the scars of the age when there were marble racers running amok and dropping their worthless rubbish all over the new page is gonna live on for a while.
I mean, if we focus on right now you guys are flooding Algobox with your junk. This is resulting in a few negative consequences.
The good users have begun to depart and it doesn't look like it's gonna let up. You guys like their scenes right? I mean, the stuff we make, we put a lot of effort into it. Imagine if all the good users left, all that would go with it. Algobox is a marketplace to put all kinds of scenes. Now all the good scenes are getting buried under a flood of crap and no one gets to see them.
As the good users depart there are less people to appreciate the good scenes that still get posted. It becomes even less likely for scenes to get rated before they fall of "New". Too many times to count have I opened the popular page, and it's 95% marble races.
Lastly, with all the good users leaving, Algobox is gradually becoming dumber and less talented. The scenes are losing all there individuality. And I mean, when you kids get to be my age what the hell are you gonna do when you finally realize "Oh god, marble racing was hellishly silly and boring!" Well, guys, you're all screwed! You wasted all your time making dumb marble races and now that you've all lost interest in that, what are you gonna do now, just suddenly be Kilinich? Yeah, I think not. Some day, even the marble racers will leave, and algobox will be completely deserted. Woo, that sounds real fun.
Body - 9/10, it doesn't have any textures and it also isn't yours.
Suspension - 8/10, it's a little stiff and bouncy, but suitable for a sports car like this
Engine - 6/10, well, I have some mixed feelings here. it's a smooth engine, it has a very steady idle, and a good amount of inertia. I could do an engine brake But, it states in the description that the engine has 105 hp, whereas my testing found the engine only had 90-95hp If you wanna see, I have the data if you wanna see it Also, it generates a tilting force that rotates the car to the front when accelerating. Maybe you could counteract this with a light wheel spinning at ~10x engine speed? Also I like that it's possible to drive at 30% power, so you can drive sensibly and not in full Clarkson mode all day
Gearbox - 5/10, it slips a little and the ratios are a bit too long, along with the gaps between them being uneven. Also try and use A/Z for sequential gearbox, because it's easier to use
Clutch - 3/10, it's just a toggle, but even if I put the wheel friction at +inf and dropped the clutch in 4th gear at a standstill, the engine didn't die.
Dashboard - 7/10, I like the dials how they have that "sluggish" feel like old cars, but I actually found the RPM dial is inaccurate by about 100 rpm!
So, collective rating, 6.3/10 (but you get a 10 anyway, because this deserves to be popular )
And le performance -
0-100 km/h 9.6s
0-160 km/h 19.4s
180 km/h topspeed, but only limited by engine speed xD
IRL the cam profiles are a little different, but, oh well, cam engines are hard to make work accurately in Algodoo anyway because of the screwy polygon collisions, so this works fine anyway.
