Sometimes shells jam the gun. try something like in my FMK (a little circle in the upper left corner of the shell that only collides with the polygon that extracts) and it will work a lot smoother!
It does work quite well. if you want less lag, you can also change the gunpowder's properties instead of spawning another circle and deleting the first one. I'm not sure but I think that if you use too much of this or undo and fire it again too many times it will fill all your ram with crap. (that happened to me before :lol: )

If you fiddle with the catch a bit more, the dark polygon might move it upwards
Giving it a second shot already! I had to copy the whole truck to this scene and had to retexture it and everything, but it's worth it (the other track had some hideous bumps in some places) ;)
No not really ;) a shaded Duster with one of those rotary knockoffs is doing fine. Having a lot of trouble with the suspension though :|

joke, the wheels are like that because they aren't the original from the pic i used, so I just scaled them down a bit. The original are R16 I believe and it looks real ugly with those :lol:

@faytree Renault: actually i used a render of an argentinian "limited edition" version just because it was the best angle I could find. There aren't any Dacia cars here, but yeah, the differences are very few :|
Gonna try either using my usual black magic to double the engine's torque, or just copying it and putting one aside the other(It would still measure 0.75x1.5) :devil:

Okay, then I'm going for twin-turbo high compression VTEC.
Well it actually has some kind of VTEC that kicks in at 500 rpm and gives me 50 extra RPMs but I still can get some juice out of it with spring turbos and really oversized rings to push the balls down. And an improved VTEC!
I wanted to see a power curve just to see if you could notice the vtec :P

No it's okay actually. if you make it go backwards the ignition will work badly because of some weird physics thing, but when i made my 7 cylinder I found 2 formulas for calculating gear ratios and cam numbers for either the camshaft going contrary to the shaft or to the same direction. If it went contrary it needed more cams (4 in my case) but it turned slower,and.if it went to the same direction then it needed less cams (3) but it had to go faster. irl it's cheaper to do less cams but I don't care here ;)

I'm not even sure if it really has less than 450 hp, but I just spawn 2 balls per cycle. and this is the track :devil:
I've boosted the engine a lot, changed the gear ratios, made the wheels smaller, made the suspension stronger, and made the engine a lot more durable so that it doesn't stop working after a little bump. If the engine still is okay, then I'm good to go ;)
Yeah, I actually tested the old one and the new one by hand and made a little chart some hours ago. I think your dynos are a little bit inaccurate unless you increase the flywheel's mass to like 10k kg.
Can you change the spawned balls' density so I can tune it later? I don't know how you measure it, and since it gave me 100 hp and not 700, then i'd rather ask you ;) Don't worry about the balls flying, i'll fix that as soon as i can. How much for the tournament to start?
I don't know why the chart is inverted but it is hp / RPM. Damn excel

Well there are three or four things you should never do when building an engine here at Algodoo, and two of them are:
never use legacyMode 0 axles on rods or whatever you wanna call those (you just lose power)
Never use too much reciprocation on a normal car engine (If it's for a tractor it's okay) as this gives much less rad/s though it gives a little bit more torque. The difference between a slow engine and a fast engine with a gearbox is just too big. Try the rods at half the distance from the crankshaft's center (0.125m)

Instead of using a random number generator you can use rand.normal (I think it gives a number between -2 and 2), or rand.uniform01 (gives between 0 and 1)

Good gun. The skin is very good!
Some things I didn't like so much were the smoke and the cycling it has. For the smoke you can make it go up much faster and increase its size with time, put it a lot less timeToLive, and make it black with very little alpha. also making each particle collide between one another makes a more realistic smoke.
And for the cycling, I mean that on a real gun, when you fire it, the slide gets pushed for a very short time, and then it gets back all the way by inertia. When you fire this gun the slide seems to have acceleration. Also if you could make it a little bit faster it'd be awesome
Oh it's not that odd. You can fix it by using only 2 axles instead of 4 or just using fixjoints
Or try going to the axles' script menu, then find legacyMode and change it to 0

I use that one and it works okay. but always keep the water particle count to the minimum possible or else it will lag horribly (AMD users like me have a lot of lag regardless of the processor)

Add some shaders to give it some depth if you ever find yourself bored, and it would be awesome if you found some way to make the initial tests more like obligatory and on a real situation (I mean, in the first part where there's ice you can just accelerate and pass through it, it would be better if you HAD to switch to fwd)

That's more of an air turbine than a fuelpowered turbine as the balls get out just like they entered

For it to be fuelpowered you should make the balls expand or whatever else, then push the wheel
