Linkage, do you like using adhesion instead of density? I think increasing energy of light spawn circle is much better than spawning "bowling balls" into cylinder
I notised that classic spawned cyrcle can't accelerate piston or any object faster then 8-10 m/s(120 hz) because of algodoo physics, so that limited angular velocity
Try to change adhesion to -35000 in the spawner script in my engine and it'll have 300 hp. Incredible, yes? I think it's the first spawn engine on algobox that really needs cut-off, else it spins over 3000 rpm and become unstable
P.S. I wrote max power on max speed, not just max power.
Linkage,
Take a look on adhesion in pistons. Write -0.1 and they'll never get out of cylinders, even if engine has 6 hp/kg and spins over 1800 rpm. [120 hz of course]
Interesting, I registered But why dont use algodoo.com/forum? I started topic with dragster couple of days ago, but no one replied
It's just tech demo of using kinetic energy instead of electric or fuel. Simple to use, it has high efficency and potentially can give unlimited powe... limited by gearbox strength power
Very nice model and dashboard, but engines like that should have more "resistance" when they're idling. Had you ride on motorcycle? You dont need to use brakes above 20-30 kmh when throttle is closed. Just shift gears and keep 4000-8000 rpm so you will slow down fast. I mean you need to add constant brake on crankshaft and increase engine's torque.
I'm happy that negative adhession became useful, but engines with this tech could be really compact - possible to have real piston size and "nitromethane" efficiency. 0.56 x 0.375 m engine can have a several thousands hp. I have one i4 with 5000 rpm @ 8000 N*m {200 hz}. Impressive and crazy at the same time
Answering questions:
>"how you did that engine so stable?"
Circles should have less diameter than cylinder and timeToLive about 1-2 sim ticks. If they contact with cyl side, they move in random direction, not toward to piston.
P.S. all my scripts are free to use
P.P.S. speedometer is Alien_RG's
It's difficult to shift and drive smooth without gas button. You can adjust throttle as you wish and just use up and down arrows. I prefer 1/8 throttle for example, it feels like driving a real car
I'm happy you guys still using negative adhession in piston engines! Nice stable machine. I'd add some air friction because 70 hp is not enough to go faster than 190 km/h. And weight... It's quite heavy Anyway 10/10
vaidas369, basicaly it's balance of forces between springs and air. Not so complicated as this thing

Make scripted clutch release and increase crankshaft "mass"(moment of inertia). It should not spin up so fast. Currently it's pain to start moving at half trottle, but a real car can do it just idling
9 of 10, but I rate 10. Beautiful truck, but... Most of algodoo players make mistake creating engine's crank "too light", but in reality it's heavy and they take some time to spin up and slow down.

600 hz. That's too much, believe me. Algodoo struggling to get good fps, I run it on 35-50% of normal speed.
T_Reißig, a lot of time, maybe months. I wrote in description when I begun.
I mostly like its traction system(shortly described in the scene), but not exactly this trolleybus. Relays, resistor-blocks and camshaft driven contactors are uncommon now a days, ineffective and complicated compared to solid stateelectronics. But you could clearly see how it works hear relays clicking.

simple axle driven. You could fit an engine and gearbox
