Ok, tried pos:= e.this.pos and worked. Now let's try with 2 strokes per turn.
The polygons make the engine to go fast, an I couldn't find much more torque by converting them into boxes.
Christer, the engine name isnt for the way it works, its just by a novel mechanism called Internally Radiating Impulse Structure.

Gent: It can be done in real world, even the designer of it has won like $95.000!
A nuclear reactor doesnt work like that. It makes water to convert into steam and drive a turbine, and that water is heated by the uranium when compressed.
It hasn't got too many parts, just search for IRIS engine on Google Images and there's a drawing from National Geographic that shows how it's done. It has got a few parts!
Anyways, you're reasoned. I really don't know how it does to use the stroke, because the flywheel gives a very little turn and the rods get opened.
I was saying to make two strokes per crankshaft turn, alternating 3 arms for each stroke.
It's hard, because we don't know what angle the arms are in bore, but let's try!
Oh, and I know that of the center, just that grid with 3 axes hasn't got an exact center of the arms. It works ok, anyways.
The Wankel engine is a type of rotary pistonless engines.
Good!
Wow, works incredible in Phun!
Did you accelerate at turbo for a minute?
It hasn't got fast acceleration!
Good idea! I'll try to do an engine like this!
PD: Have you seen the back things?
Forgot - press C for clutch!
altse99: I'll test in Phun later, to see the what problems it has.
MrGlinzz: Thanks!
That's a 2 stroke engine! You'd use springs as rods with 1*10^7 constant and 15 dampening, that gives you a lot of performance.
My Pentium 4 can't handle it:( . Good job anyways!
Ok, I didn't see that. The springs just give you more strenght and some rad/s, but if it has the necessary strnght to move a car or some weight, it's ok.
Maybe you could try putting rods AND springs? Just try.
mitko: Yes, they use. Have you tested it in Phun? It goes like to 7 rad/s!
After a while, the pistons turn 90ยบ, you have to make them larger and put inertiaMultiplier 10 to them.
Maybe making a V4 engine with less piston oscillation may make it vibrate less. Good work anyways!
Why do you put it a spring and a ball spawner, if it has a hinge that makes the engine turn?
Yes, I'll try to fix that. Most controls are just nonsense, like the partial clutch.
The track is made like that because I've erased it like three times!
Anyways thanks!
That's it. If Fiat does a car with a 1.0 TJET litre engine with just 100 hp and that has the same fuel consumption as a 500 cm3 motorcycle, and they sell it at a low price, it'd be epic.
Just think that a small TJet engine that gives the same torque that a normal 1.4 would suck a very few fuel, with some 90 hp! It can be done, sure!
Christier, forgot to say: the springs get to 15000 Nm in Turbo mode.
huh. You should use geometry created valve cam, it's easy to do and works really good!
Also use squares for the valve pins, they have better collision.
And your spring engine, it's not a spring engine. It's a cylinder with a spring and a motorized hinge. Spring engines have a - value for dampening.
That's not an engine. Those are cylinders with hinge motors!
You should make the flywheel of radius like 0.1875 to prevent engine stopping. Also, the accelerator works better if you put the hinge motor on AND the up arrow.
Anyways, works good! In size for a big one:tup:
Gent, you can put legacyMode 0 axles, they work ok. I've done 3 tests with legacyMode 0 axles, and 3 with legacyMode 1. It works faster with legacyMode 0 axles (like 0.2 seconds less on average).
I can see that you want better aesthetics than performance. The pistons have to be boxes, and the spawner has to spawn only 1 ball. Use Scene.removeEntity(e.other) on the spawners to do this, and delete the killer ball.
You should put the killer box a bit more down (like 0.2 meters).
Anyways, it works well:tup:
That's a 3 gears gearbox, the reverse doesn't count. And look at my comment on the other scene.
