Not trying to be rude, but the upload rules clearly say that uploads that are not intended to be shared as scenes are against the rules. I guess this scene will be removed soon because of that.
Make a thread in the forums instead.
You glued the head to the background by accident.
Select the head and the helmet and select loosen in the Geometry actions-menu until this option doesn't appear anymore. This means that all parts are loosened. Then glue them together and fix/hinge the head to the body again.
In order to make sure that the car doesn't get out of shape through scaling make the picture a square in a program like paint or photoshop, then create a square in Phun and use this new picture as the texture.
I know what you mean. I will see if I can work on that. When I'm done I will upload a file with this Mike version, the new Mike and Bob so that you can compare them easily and tell me if I'm heading in the right direction.
The only "perfect" shapes in Phun are rectangles (boxes) and circles. All the other shapes have small little edges. If they hadn't I doubt that Phun could run smoothly because of the amount of collision calculations going on. Do what Christianol suggested and look at some of the great bikes and cars here on Algobox to see how it's done.
Make a circle and glue every part of your wheel to it. Make the circle invisible. Then make sure that very part except for the circle has no collision group. The circle is basically your wheel. The visible parts are just for the looks.
If you set the air friction of the character's bigger circle to 500000 and the controller acceleration to 50m/sē the controls become much more realistic because he stops moving when you stop pressing the movement key instead of floating around.
Is it that hard to click the little button with the letters r-u-l-e-s on it?
Algobox terms of service § 6 (member conduct), 6:
"You agree to not use the Service to [...] Upload a scene that is not meant to be spread as a scene, but should rather be posted on a bulletin board, market place, or other Service not in the scope of the Service's functionality"
No, no, no. Retarded means slow. If he was retarded there is the possibility that he figures it out sooner or later. I guess he's simply trolling.
Aren't we all a bit troll?
I'll try to post the intructions the way I got it and the way they worked for me.
Step 1: Start the engine by pressing ENTER until you see that the engine turns (the red thing moving rapidly).
Step 2: Press UP and DOWN at the same time to switch from Parking in a gear (usuallly Reverse).
Step 3: Press RIGHT to toggle between Drive and Reverse.
Step 4: When in Drive press UP to toggle between Drive and Low.
Step 5: When in a gear press N to switch into Neutral.
Step 6: Press UP and DOWN at the same time to switch into Parking again.
LEFT accelerates, DOWN brakes.
I hope that helps everyone who had difficulties with the original description.
I really don't understand why people are always making excuses for their bad English. The only real errors I could find in this description (aside from missing punctuation; but we are on the internet, so who cares.) are the use of 'some' in a negated sentence, where you have to use 'any' instead, 'english', which has to be written 'English' and one missing article ('Instructions are in [the] scene').
It's good. There were only two things that bothered me:
1: The springs are way too long. Make them shorter and stronger instead. I set the length to 1 (1.10 for the rear axis) and the strength to 5.
2: You should add a driver's cell. The way it is now the rrof seems to be too fragile.
Just name the original creator in the description. It's part of the netiquette here on Algobox. Many people put a lot of time and effort in their creations and share them here for us all to have fun with them. That deserves respect, especially when the project turned out to be as good as the testapreta.
Didn't lag a bit for me. Like the others said, it would be nice if the car recentered. It would also help to see at what position the steering is. Right now it is hard to tell how hard you are going to turn in without actually moving the car.
But it's a nice start. 8/10
