i think you mean the tunnel, they have no texture. it looked like lag with the rain ^^
maybe it was only the rain that looked so laggy

I have the same problem with the top race scene (if i tried too often) and the
Aerial Car Kit (if i had modified it a little bit).
I thought it was only my pc but now i am relieved ^^

I fixed bugs I post it as a reply to this scene.
I added 2 Gears which you can toggle with the normal gearbox. Accelerate with z only

Press r to drive forwards ^^
t to drive backwards

If you run it over night algodoo (1.7.1) will brake becaue of an memory leak

Its just the same Texture. maybe you should mirror every second foresttexture. then it looks more like a wood then 100 textures side by side.
and a tipp for realism trees grown even on mountains straight up.

its a little bit boring if you want to drive the hole track and there are places you can´t drive over, even with the numpad speed
