what if you educate for algodoo?

Postby CrystalCube » Tue Oct 13, 2009 3:22 am

What if you (like myself) use your spare time educating for Algodoo, not with it. I know it would have made ny entrance to the phun community a lot easier. Does any one have opinions about this decision, or know what I should teach first or stress the importance of? :?:

It's a pretty straight forward program. If you know what each tool does it'll be easy.

For you, for me it's all old and stuff. I don't find anything new in Algodoo. If you make more stuff, you will eventually be used to all of it. You must be one slow user.

the tools and options are what people need to learn... but what I still learn is how to apply what you already know in new ways

Yeah, it sure does! With the world of thyme, there really are no limits to what you can make!
How much have you learned about thyme, or are you just learning how to make simple scenes so far?

Why has Thyme been put into the conversation?
He said nothing about scripting. And just because a scene doesn't have Thyme, it doesn't mean it's simple. :problem:

Because of Phun, I often look at everyday objects and I think "How can I make this in Phun?"
I do stuff and break things. You know how it is.

to me algodoo has always been more of a mechanical event platform then a physical simulator because the further you go the more you can see its flaws and how superficial it really is. to put it simply what u see in algodoo is algodoo physics which at some level is similar to our own but with completely different underlying mechanics so i wouldnt go as far as seeing real life through the eyes of phun :P or next thing you know you'll be trying to hinge 2 baseballs into a tiny box to solve the global energy crisis

You cant expect everybody to learn/wnat to learn the same things
While some people want to just go go go and just get stuff done fast and easy, others really want to understand it all
In addition to that, some people want to be able to make mechanical and functional stuff (sometimes employing thyme) while others (such as myself) see great artistic value in the way it is easy to create and edit things seperatly through polygons

personally i say let people learn by experience (experience including what they pick up from others). That way everybody continues to have their own unique flavor as to how they do things
