4-legged walker contest
I had this idea bouncing around in my head after I realized "Hey, it's easy to build off road wheeled vehicles. Walkers? That's a whole different thing altogether". So basically I ran out of reasons not to start a contest for this, so I did.
Rules are as follows;
Walker;
-Maximum size 2 x 4 meters.
-Maximum weight 1200 kg.
-No infinite values may be used; friction included.
-No InertiaMultiplyer. (Except in the engine.)
-No stabilization devices of any kind; you shouldn't need them, because we'll basically be building mechanical horses and horses don't need them, either. Of course they do need side to side balance but since Algodoo is 2D you won't have to worry about that
Engine;
-May be spawn or collision.
-onCollide and onLaser scripts allowed - and that's it.
-Weight and size unlimited, just be sure not to exceed the overall weight/size limits.
Gearbox;
-Any scripts allowed.
-Amount of gears unlimited. I highly suggest adding some sort of reverse in case you get stuck.
-May not be bigger that half engine size. This depends on how big your engine is.
-Automatic gearboxes not allowed. Must be manual.
-CVTs not allowed. Must have fixed ratios.
Walking mechanism;
-May be Klann linkage, or any other linkage you may know of.
Scoring;
-You will start with 30 points in the terrain test. For every time your vehicle gets stuck or flips over and I need to use the drag tool to get things moving again, 5 points will be subtracted.
-You will also start with 30 points for the acceleration/braking test. Target distance will be 75 m. Every 5 m beyond this and 2.5 points will be subtracted. Please ignore the fact that the speed is 50 ms, no walker could ever go that fast. Just imagine it says 25 M/s instead, I will edit the base scene soon.
-You will start with whatever points you earned in the above two tests in the speed test. Target speed is 25 m/s. 5 points will be awarded for every 5 m/s over this, and 5 points will be subtracted for every 5 m/s under this.

Contest ends Jan 10, 2015. I will give an image of a trophy to put in your sig, if you win, that is.
