Robot battle!
Hey guys, I'm TheTinyTerror and I want to have contestants for a robot wars style series on youtube! I will decide the numbers for each series on the number of entries, and if yours isn't included, relax. There will be more serieseseseses for you to be included. To enter, you must have a robot that has a max length of 4 metres, and max height 3 metres. No engines required, just axle motors really. Walking robots allowed too. Sadly, no scripting because I AM A TOTAL NOOB AT THAT! Please give youtube name (if you have one), robot name, team preference (Red, blue, green, yellow, purple, black, white or none) and make sure the robot can easily be reversed if needed, so ideally symmetrical, but simple is good too. Max motor speed is 400. I myself will have some entries, but they will be teamed with your robots, so may the best team win!

Re: Robot battle!
And by the way, none means that the robot will be with another bot, but just no specific team colour.

Re: Robot battle!
Umm hasn't this... been tried already? But I do like the fact that the robots can be bigger...
And PS, a base scene would be nice.

Re: Robot battle!
Yes pnvv, I know, I'm in the algobots. However, I will only do one battle an episode, so much less editing is needed, so series can be uploaded quicker, and more people will get a chance to be included. By the way, I just made a scene, Robot Battle Test Scene, which provides the building space and there is room for information to be inputted. There is no weight limit as long as all the parts are necessary for the robot to work and remain stable and noticeable, just make sure that EVERYTHING is on the same settings for material: 2.0 kg/m2 density, 0.50 friction, 0.500 restitution and ABSOLUTELY ZERO ATTRACTION! NO MESSING UP OTHER PEOPLES ROBOTS' FUNCTIONS!

Re: Robot battle!
Also, try putting a 3x3m grid of little blocks of 0.25x0.25 metres each, to test the weapons out. I do it with my robots and trust me, it helps when building!

Re: Robot battle!
But I thought messing up other people's bots was the whole point of a 'robot battle'
Anyway, this sounds like fun, I'm in. Here's my bot;

Re: Robot battle!
Sorry pnvv, but the laser goes out of the box, so Millipede can't be accepted at the moment. Also, It's a bit too destructive lol
The laser completely obliterated the blocks, i saw that. That happening to other bots would probably make the competition fail. Especially Spike, for example. I'm going to use him as one of my entries for a series.

Re: Robot battle!
Yeah, I had a feeling that was gonna happen...
But I'll try to build another one that actually works... and doesn't try to kill your CPU in the process My computer normally gets about 120fps, but as soon as it started to slice up those boxes the framerate just went to hell.

This is Danger zone, my entry for the robot battle. I will allocate him to a team last, as he is mine. I put black then none as my choices though. See how he is pnvv!

BTW, sometimes he gets stuck on the little blocks. Just undo if that happens.

Re: Robot battle!
I think the millipede would actually be a decent design if I get rid of that crazy laser

Re: Robot battle!
I did try that, but it was a little unstable. Do you want me to do that anyway?

Re: Robot battle!
Hey, I tested it with the same blocks I used for Danger Zone, and it's really effective! Should I use it?

Re: Robot battle!
Here it is. I got rid of the crazy death ray and replaced it with some spinning geary things;
Also, it being unstable is no issue because it will drive either way up.

Re: Robot battle!
Hey pnvv, just wanted to let you know that The Millipede 2.0 ABSOLUTELY SMASHED DANGER ZONE AND SPIKE IN A TEST BATTLE! I think you win...

Re: Robot battle!
Probably that's because I used a few ingenious tricks:
The chassis (the thing that the wheels and spinning gears are mounted to) has a density of 2; I obeyed the rules. However I mounted like 20 boxes with 2.0 density on top of each other, simulating 1 box with a desity of about 40.
Also you may notice that the gears spin faster than 400 rpm. I achieved this by mounting the gears, which spin at 400 rpm, on top of another circle which also spins at 400 rpm, so the gears actually spin at 800 rpm without breaking any rules
The reason I did not keep these secret is because I want some competition; this tournament will definitely fail if I just win every time.
