Displacement Challenge

Postby Paradigm 29 » Mon Jan 25, 2010 10:02 pm

This is not a contest, so there will be no winner; only a list of people who successfully completed the challenge.

Here is a Challenge that can be pretty fun and doesn't have a lot of rules. Complete the challenge and I'll put your name on the list.

Scenario
There is a Red Box and a Light Blue Capture Zone.

Your objective is very simple:
Place the Red Box in the Blue Capture Zone
1. Using no more than 1 motor (no key controls)
2. Without using thyme

MINOR RULES (for those lacking common sense)
Do not modify the objects already in the scene
Do not use the drag tool
Do not use Material Velocity
Do not turn off gravity
Do not use controller acceleration

I have other "challenge" maps already made, but I just wanted to see how everyone receives this first one. I think people who enjoy puzzles will also enjoy solving these challenges.

Ooh, quick thinking. The box doesn't go all the way down into the delivery zone, but its no big deal. Since you're first, you're number 1 on the list too

Here's my personal solution to challenge II. I'll probably put more effort into the next one, as lethalsquirl says. :D

It sometimes won't work, but usually does. If you are disappointed that the block is not fully placed in the holder, just wait a couple seconds.

it was fun to make! It started as "HEY! Lets try to use ONLY a spring and get it in, but I went ahead and added 3 boxes.

YAY! All three challenges complete! This one doesn't have as high of a success rate as the others. Uses a negative density killer to kill the gravity well once the block is in the right position.

EDIT
OOPS! (again) forgot to put scene in! here it is:

EDIT
OMG!!!! IT DOESNT WORK!! It worked before I saved it, but now it doesn't! darn..,

No motors used,
pretty fun challenge
You may have to try more than once, the small scale causes problems with sliding

Blasphemy! :o You completed all three challenges with such speed
I'll have to make more challenges now in order to make up for their poor quality.

What a great solution! Quality over speed (looks at shamus030 *sighs), now that's what I'm talking about.

No matter how many times I try, it never works for me. Am I doing something wrong, or is it just supposed to land on the capture zone? :|
