Springs are "crazy"!
Hello,
I've encountered some bugs with springs, one day I wanted to open one of my airplanes, using springs in their landing gears, and there, I started simulation, and the springs became "crazy", like when we set the damping to a negative number! I checked their properties, but everything was normal! That happens when the constant is high.
Could you help me, what is this bug? I can't spawn any spring without they crash!

It's not really a bug but physics engine limitation. Just increase density of connected objects.
Dream of Algodoo as game development engine...

You're right, I already tought to this, but the "bug" persists. That's annoying, because I tested with an higher density for my objects, then the mechanism breaks again, not due to springs but to objects themselves (they aren't strong enough)... So I think that it's a bug of my computer or of Algodoo, because it didn't appeared before...
Edit : hum, this bug only appears on a few scenes. Strange... Very strange...

Having high strength and density on a spring isn't really a good idea. Trust me. I recommend you play around with the values of either of those until it works.

Oh, whoops, yeah. Funny thing is, I almost called strength density, but I caught myself. Then messed up after.

Roh, this bug appears again! You're right when you say that it's high damping and high constant that make the spring crazy, but this bug didn't appeared before. Did this bug already happened to you, and do you have a tip to avoid this, without changing damping or constant or density?

Use multiple springs of little strength, instead of one spring with great strength.

I've found a solution! I've noticed that when you change the sim.frenquency, and you set it to 1000 or oneother high number, the springs won't be "crazy"! My computer lags a little bit but I can play with springs normally!
Try this, it really works! I don't know why and how it works with an high frequency, but the important is that it works!
If you want to set your frequency, you have to spawn a box and a laser hitting her, then in the OnLaserHit write (e)=>{sim.frequency = xxx} with x a number. Remember to set your s.f to 100 when you open a new scene that doesn't bug, because maybe it could make it lagging.

Sim.frequency is the frames per second. It's not good to change that unless you intend to change it back, it messes up everything.

Indeed it does mess up everything.
Try using hinges to take the place of springs. A hinge on high-density will be much stronger than a hinge on low-density. This should work if you don't use sliders- i.e. for your suspension, use "torsion bars"- hinge one end of a bar to your vehicle, hinge the other end to a wheel. A hinge connected to low-density objects should do a good job as a very strong zero-length spring.
