I noticed in the looney gear mechanism, there are 4 moving gears, each spinning at different speed relative to one another. In this case, the black circle is driven, and there are 3 gears. 1st gear (red) is approximately 1.3 : 1, 2nd (yellow) is approximately 0.85 : 1, and 3rd (green) is around 0.5 : 1. I wonder if it's possible to add extra gears, or is that not possible with the looney mechanism? :lol:

Basicaly, a planitary gearbox but, with different mechanics:P Still pretty good though!:o

Yeah, I guess you could call it planetary. But there still not going to replace simple collideSet gearboxes :) I've found mechanical gearboxes tend to be fragile and not work well at high speed, plus I think 3 speeds is not enough for anything more than a go-kart or motorcycle and I don't think it's possible to make one like this with more than 3 speeds anyway, and also the ratios have to be exactly like they are here, or it won't work.

I might make a collideset gearbox with C-gears to prevent slippage. If it works well I might upload it ;)
