I think that is emerald becase he buyed thing in the supermaket so he buyed the chainsaw and go to the roof and killed nils,but the person that followed rainbow and nils is amethyst maybe and after go to emerald and says the things that he saw.(the killer for me is emerald not amethyst)

He could just get a weapon from that point really easily.

He has gone to the house of nils and he did someting with the roof and because of that the roof fell and nils died.

Hmm... Emerald he could buy chainsaw in black market and he use ladder to nils house and use chainsaw to the roof and rip nils (yep i might get worst respond)
