Thanks for the reply faytree. I assume by your comment that you tried AlgoSound out. I assume by your past comment in Sounds in Algodoo! that you probably used the Python version.

Regarding 'Btw, I realized that the "tone" code didn't work', It works OK for both versions (Python and vbScript) on my Win10 PC. Here are some reasons it might not work on your machine:

1. The sound is set too low. The examples use sound set to 5 (out of 100) because they were quite loud compared to the other sounds on my machine. Try scene.my.playSound("tone,500,550,5,100", 0) or scene.my.playSound("tone,440,444,10,100", 1).

2. If you are using Python, then it might be your numpy version. I'm running Python 3.6 and I'm using the latest versions of pygame and numpy that run on Python 3.6.

3. If you are using the latest versions of Python and numpy, and using a Mac OS, then maybe I made a mistake somewhere with case sensitivity.

It works for me. I used the python-version.
I had to install python 3.6.4 , then i followed the other
links of the youtube description

to install also pygame and then the same way
also numpy.
first, i didnt get it right to install gtts, but then i used
in the console the syntax
pip install gtts
to get it finally installed.
After that, your scene worked, and i was glad

Thanks for trying it out and the feedback. Your comments will help others that wish to try it out. Search on Algobox for Tags named "AlgoSound" to find other scenes with AlgoSound. If you make any scenes with sound, then add the AlgoSound tag and provide a link to any new sounds.

Thanks. I appreciate the feedback. I developed the code a few months back and it appears that only a few people have tried it out. Search for the tag "AlgoSound" to find other scenes that use AlgoSound.

@s_noonan ---- Do you happen to know of any other file read/write functions besides system.readWholeFile() and system.writeToFile()? I hope that Emil would have provided more file read/write tools than just those two.

Other users have been successful at using AlgoSound. Please don't add any more comments to any of my scenes as none of the comments that you added to any of my scenes (to date) have been useful and they are wasting my and other user's time. Don't expect me to respond to any of your comments.

s_noonan -- I sent user rjoseph a warning about leaving bogus and nonsense comments on other people's scenes. He has been registered here on Algobox for only three months and has already posted 629 comments during that time period!

I found copyrighted music inside sound.zip, but do you have the license? You kind of going to get in trouble...

i downloaded it and putit in the right folder, i unzippped it and ran it, but it closed automatically, how do i makeit not to close automatically, do i have to download python or do i not have to

A: Yes, plus some python modules.

The fact that you are asking that question means that you probably don't know enough about Python to get this to work. There is also a vbScript version included that does the same thing The vbScript implementation will only work on Windows. The vbScript or Python terminal screens need to be running while using AlgoSound.
