Those cut-away images of a human arm look like a Porterhouse steak I had for dinner last night. Juicy and tender. Yum, it was deeeeeelicious!

Interesting concept for a hands-free doorknob, but you can never guarantee that the occasional inane moron won't sneeze on it or lick it with their tongue for some unknown reason. I guess nothing is idiot-proof.

Good job on the scene's form and function!
Thanks for the feedback. My goal was to be able to lock the door, rotate the doorknob, and open the door without using your hand in order to minimize hand-surface-hand transmission. I see now that the proximity of the wrist to the hand is too close for comfort (which can be corrected by cutting off people's hands and now you know the reason for the cross-section view). My next design will be a foot operated model.
Many tech companies now make remote door locks that you can operate from your smart phone. If that technology can be used in a remotely operated doorknob or latch, then doors would be able to be opened and closed without human contact at all. Maybe all residential homes will someday be retrofitted with automatic doors, not unlike the ones we see at every grocery store.
Let me get my disinfecting wipes...
