I'm trying to get the simplest, most accurate, linear guide linkage. I'm not quite there yet.

During my cursory "seat of my pants" testing I found that "coded", "Linkage-3", and maybe "Linkage-5" performed better than the others. The others were either non-linear throughout their travel and/or they had noticeable backlash. "Coded" is the most economical (of course) because of it needing fewer components than the others.

Question: Are you working on a design that would be an improvement over any in this group?
Question: Are you working on a design that would be an improvement over any in this group?
Answer: No. I'm out of ideas for now. Feel free to make a design that surpasses the rest. Angle variation of the orange link is not an issue. The problem seems to be the non-linearity (dy) at the ends of travel.
