Aims to show the propagation of the longitudinal waves of sound coming from a single sine-oscillator. The speed/local pressure of molecules is indicated by brightness.

Altering zoom factor as well as air resistance multiplier might increase the visibility of the desired effect. Adding more molecules is very detrimental for the performance unfortunately.

Bonus question: Who is that guy in the middle screaming the whole time?:o

“Sound waves? Delightful things—much slower than the ones I’m famous for, but at least they don’t require a spark gap to enjoy a good opera.”
The guy screaming in the middle is the German physicist Heinrich Hertz.
@s_noonan -- Your quote is probably something that Wilhelm Conrad Röntgen would say. Is that who you alluded to?

By the way... Röntgen is my favorite scientist (for obvious reasons!).
