Very inconsistent and unreliable I'm afraid, but you got the right idea! ;)

You need more space inside the gun to stop jamming. Increase the space behind the bolt to put the shell ejecting mechanism further back. And change it to a rectangle. Polygon collisions can be a bit dodgy, especially when fast recoil is concerned.

Consider putting the bolt onto rails aswell. This will increase the stability of it while allowing you to play around with the empty space the shell will kickback into.

I'm no gun expert, but I hope this was helpful :)
