This is my first attempt at making a walker. I began making the limbs one day, then I created the mechanism the next day, and then I made a self-balancing system during the third day.
The system works better at faster speeds, but it will still get off balance if you try to slow it down or speed it up by a little.
The secret to the balance of this robot seems to have been the result of an accident where I attached one of the ballasts to one of the axles allow each wheel to drive the other. This allowed for a dynamic center of gravity that allows the robot to input the right amount of weight on each side at the right time.
I hope you enjoy it!
Also, feel free to use your own stabilization system on this robot.
Now both of the wheels driving the mechanism are fixed together. They shouldn't go off alignment. |
